RARE 19th Century Desk model of a Postal Scale in complete original and working condition. Click on photo to see workmanship and detail of the black ebony wood base and the decoration of the Bronze Scale. Ebony wood base has compartment to hold stamps and Scale rests on 4 scrolled feet carved out of the base. All of the gradations are intact. Dimensions: 9.5" tall x 7" deep x 5" wide. Japanese Porcelain VASE beautifully decorated in multi-color porcelain with Sterling Silver overlay. Note the quality of the 'Basket Weave' around the Neck & BAse of the Vase. Dimensions 10" Tall x 2 3/8" diameter at the Top x 3 1/8" diameter at the Base. The Photos were taken in natural sunlight so the colors are true. Antique CHINESE Blanc de Chine Porcelain SCULPTURE of 'KUAN YIN'

Absolutely wonderful Sculpture of the immortal Chinese Goddess, 'Kuan Yin' in Blanc de Chine porcelain. Kuan Yin is beautifully depicted in her flowing Robe with Sash, decorated all over. She is carrying a large Pot of Flowers and wearing the loveliest bouquet in her hair. Dimensions 14" Tall x 4" Wide at the Base x 3" Deep. Art Deco Table LAMP with TROUT jumping out of Water, Circa 1910-1939

LAMP in the form of a TROUT jumping out of the Water. French Art Deco period, original Sculpture in fine porcelain and Rock Crystal. The Water is depicted by a block of Rock Crystal inset into a porcelain base. The crystal lights up, and the Fish glistens as though just emerging from the water. Trout comes apart from the base & the trout fits onto a metal pedestal on the base. Dimensions of Trout, 11" Long & whole Lamp is about 12" tall, and its base is about 8.5" by 4.5". The detail is extraordinary, even the 'Teeth' of the fish. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are exceptional. $575

XIXth Century Gilded Bronze MEDECIS VASE

Stunning, heavy, 18k Gold Gilded and chased solid Bronze VASE in the MEDICIS style signed by the Artist, "Faraoni ". Decorated with floral ornaments and with four different Medallions containing portraits of beautiful women. Circa Napoleon III. I do not know the Artist. I recently sold another on eBay. work is beautifully executed, very fine and of the highest quality. These type of Vases were rarely signed. The VASE is 8.5"( 21,5 cm) high with upper diameter 9 cms, low diameter 10,5 cms. Weight is 1,9kg or 4.2 lbs. CONDITION & QUALITY are excellent. $395

Rare French BRONZE SCULPTURE by 'JACQUOT' dated 1854

Large, heavy Bronze Sculpture Signed 'Jacquot' and dated 1854. The Allegorical subject is most interesting. The artist creates 3 young Cherubs representing the ARTS, PAINTING, ARCHITECTURE & MUSIC with all three Cherubs in the same torso. This idea and the extremely fine and delicate execution of this Bronze highlights the great ability & importance of this Artist. Patina is excellent. Dimensions: 22,5cm (8.9") and weighs about 2lbs. 'Pese Lettres' or POSTAL SCALES & Stamp Box Circa 1860 in Gilded Bronze set on a Marble Base and resting on 4 bronze Ball Feet. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are exceptional including the gilding. Dimensions: 5.25" long x 3.5 " wide x 7 1/8 " tall to top of Postal Scale. Sides are decorated with Bronze Wreaths, typical for the Period and the small STAMP BOX is simply magnificent. 8 DAY BALL WATCH, with original Bronze EAGLE Marble-Bronze Support - RARE

Antique stem wind English/Swiss 8 DAY BALL DESK WATCH encased in Bronze or Brass with White Enamel Dial, Roman Numerals and Sweep Second Hand. Engraved in Scroll on the back plate is "Eight Day", Serial #145599 & a 'Cross' perhaps Swiss and more numbers. The Dial and magnifying Crystals front & back are in excellent condition. Back Crystal is bevelled so that Watch can sit on a table or Desk. In good working condition. The dial or face is white enamel with Roman numbers. Dimensions:2.75" diameter & 4" to top of Ring. Napoléon III full figure MAGNIFYING GLASS with SEAL

Beautifully sculpted, well detailed XIXth Century French MAGNIFYING GLASS with SEAL in silvered metal with the Handle in the full figure of NAPOLEON. Base of Handle or figure contains a Seal with the logo of the Empire which can be used for sealing letters. Napoleon 'Bumble Bees' decorate the support for the Glass. Antique Bronze Jewelry BOX, Napoléon III with original Ivory Miniature

Exquisite large XIXth Century French gilt metal Jewelry Box with inset original miniature painted on Ivory. Box is beautifully decorated on the top and all sides. Hinge is perfect and box closes tight. Miniature is in excellent conditon. The interior has a red velvet or cloth lining and overall, Condition & Quality are excellent. 4" wide x 4" deep x 1 3/8" high. $425

Christofle/Collection 'Gallia' - Silver Plate JARDINIERE / CENTERPIECE

Antique plated Silver Jardiniere or Centerpiece with original green glass liner. It was made circa 1930. Came from a French Chateau in the Loire Valley, France. Dimensions: 13.5" Long x 4.5" High. Condition & Quality are very good with minor chips on the top of the glass liner. Created by Christofle at a time when Christofle was not mass producing and their artisans had the time to create a work of Art. The Silver Bowl is marked Gallia which was reserved for the more Avant Garde design range of Christofle and makes it that much more desirable. $665

Fabulous HANDMADE 5pc Art Deco Fireplace Utensil set, Circa 1930's. Condition & Quality excellent with minor normal wear and in original condition with no replating. Dimensions: 11.75" high x 7.5" wide across the back. Includes 4 original utensils. Stoker, Shovel, Pinchers and Brush (hair set in wooden base). Beautiful detail on each utensil. Easily mistaken for a 'Demetre Chiparus' Design. Unsigned, but, very high quality nonetheless. $585

MEDAL or Placque commemorating the French Stock Exchange 'La BOURSE'
Large Bronze Medal sculpted by & signed "René Baudichon" to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the French Stock Exchange, 'La Bours' in 1826. Detail is quite extraordinary. Stamped 'Bronze'. Dimension: 2.75" wide x 2" high. RENÉ BAUDICHON was born in Tours France 1878-1963. First attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Tours and went on to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1897. His teachers were Barrias, Sicard, Vernon. Since 1903 Baudichon exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais. In 1904 he won a third class medal at the Salon de Paris, the Société des Artistes Francais awarded him a silver medal in 1914 and a gold medal in 1921. Museum of Tours. Weight 104 Grams $255

STAMP BOX French, Napoléon III Circa 1870

ANTIQUE XIXth Century Hand made Stamp Box in cross-banded wood marquetry and in very good condition with normal usage wear. The Hinges like the Stamp Box were Hand Made and are engraved with decoration. There are 4 compartments for stamps and the inside of the Box has been Lacquered, black. Imagine the amount of labor involved in making a tiny Box like this in Marquetry, a labor of love; France did not have 35hrs/week! Length 6", Width 2 3/8" and Height 1.5" $275

Chinese Cloisonné Covered BOWL, XIXth Century

Large Antique Cloisonné covered bowl in beautifully decorated multi colored enamels. Inlaid in richly hued enamels, decorated with colorful floral patterns against a deep turquoise background. The exposed edges and base are finished in Gilt metal.The cover is decorated with 2 mountainous landscapes with cranes--the 2 scenes are joined by the same floral patterns from the bottom part of the bowl. Sitting majestically on the top of the cover is a solid Bronze 'Fu Dog' Finial, protecting the Bowl and its contents. Condition and Quality are excellent. Enamel is in fine condition, some minor pitting. Dimensions: 8.25" in diameter and 5.5" tall to Fu Dog. $345
DRESDEN 'Pugs' Hand Painted

Pair of DRESDEN Pugs or Dogs, Signed "Dresden" on the bottom of each. This fabulous pair of Vintage Dresden Pugs collared with six (6) gold bells, or, Stafordshire English Bulls, or Boston Terriers. I believe them to be Antique. They appear to have the earmarks of the Boston Terrier. I see these fellows going back to where the Boston Terrier did not have it's tail docked, such as todays Boston Terrier. WUCAI VASE, Antique Chinese

Antique heavy WUCAI VASE, Chinese, dating from the end of the 19th Century. The five (5) striking colors include red, white, green and two shades of blue. There are 3 figures in an exterior garden scene with lovely trees and flowers as well as scrolling clouds. 11" x 6" Hairline crack at top of Vase. Quality is Extra Fine. $475
12 CHRISTOFLE Gallia KNIFE RESTS, Circa 1920-1930

Rare to find a complete Boxed set of 12 animal knife rests from Christofle, France & signed GALLIA. Each animal is individually cast and Silver-Plated and each was fashioned as a Cubist Animal by the renowned French Sculptor/Designer Marcel Edouard SANDOZ. Created in the late 1920's for "Christofle's Gallia" line for use in the First Class dining room of the S.S. Normandie Ocean Liner. Having the Gallia Mark, which was reserved for the more Avant Garde design range of Christofle, this set is even more desirable. French PEACH BLOW Art Glass VASE

French hand blown Antique Art Glass vase, rare. I have seen Fenton, Imperial etc. but never a vase like this. There are wonderful shades of differing soft, milky hues of peach. It has a fluted top with one mall mark that looks original to the piece. It certainly doesn't detract from this exquisite vase. Stands about 8.75" high, has a base diameter of about 3.5" and a top diameter of about 5". Excellent Condition. Absolutely breathtaking!! $415
French FAIENCE PLATE 18th Century

This 18th Century French Faience plate with sculpted edges has a white background over which is painted in underglaze, blue flowers with a floral center medallion. There is some minor chipping to the outside edges with one chip approximately 3/4". The underside is in near perfect condition, indicating to me that this plate served little if any time at the table, but was used for hanging decoration and this might explain the chip on the inside edge. 10" $175

XIXth Century French Faience (tin-glazed earthenware) Plate or Bowl with brilliant colors, from Angulème, France. 12" in diameter and 2" deep. The colors are blue, yellow, and reddish-brown in impressionistically painted flowers with leaves of green in a rustic pot of reddish-brown on a bed of yellow. The plate is edged in the same yellow and reddish-brown. "7" or "L" stamped on back. Condition & Quality excellent. $150

MENU Flower Holder &/or MATCH HOLDER, Paris Porcelain

Rare Antique Menu, Flower Pot & Match Holder in fine Paris Porcelain with Gold Leaf gilding. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are excellent. 6.25" tall x 4"deep x 4". Designed so that Menu can be written and erased and Flowers placed for decoration. Matches were placed in the small bowl and side could serve as striker. $425

Italian inlaid mosaic stone Painting or Sculpture, 3 dimensional 19th Century Pietra Dura hardstone picture of 4 white Turtle Doves resting on a stone Urn with handles and drinking water. This might be considered a copy of a famous Pietra Dura, the 'Doves of Pliny' which was found in the ruins of the Villa of Hadrian. Black background, extremely well framed in a carved black wood frame with black velvet liner. Mosaic picture is 4.25" x 6.25" Condition & Quality are excellent. $2250

A most fascinating Silver & Bronze sculpture of a Japanese Mythological figure, designed by the Artist to rest in a number of different positions, e.g. on its back, on its front legs and arms, sitting up etc. PROVENANCE- Douglas Wright, London England (one of the most recognized Oriental Dealers in the world) where it was purchaed in 1988 by me.
