Extraordinary Example
, Napoléon III

  A Magnificent & Rare example by sought after Paris Silversmiths, OLIER & CARON with Workshop at 89, rue Turbigo, Paris in the 3rd Arrondisement who reached their Fame in the Napoléon III Period. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are exceptional. Dimensions: 7,9cm without Handle and 10,5cm with Handle. Very heavy gauge French .950 quality Silver, approx. 80 grams and Finer than English Sterling. One Examines hundreds of Wine Tasters to ever find one like this. The Design and Form are Classic with discreet adjustments. The Bubbles are large and small with Waves on opposite Side. The Handle is a 'Work of Art' in itself depicting 2 Serpents from Chinese Mytholgy protecting the 'Sacred Pear'. The Photos give some indication of the Gauge & Quality of this Tastevin. Fully & clearly Hallmarked with French Silver Hallmarks both for the Fench Control, being the French Minerve #1 and the Silversmith Halllmarks.

19th Century Oil on Canvas by LECOMTE, Paul (1877-1950)

  An Original Oil on Canvas by an important deceased French Artist, LECOMTE, PAUL. Signed bottom right. See Larger Photo for more Details and Description. Acquired by me in Paris in 1995 and has been in my Private Collection ever since. DIMENSIONS of Canvas: 15" x 17 1/2" & the Custom Frame: 21" x 24”. The Artist captures an important part of this small French Provincial Town with its Church and the Open Market Area with stone work being done which would have been very common in that Period. Details are incredible, considering the size of the Painting. Lecomte captures the early morning blue Provincial Sky before the sun rises. CONDITION, QUALITY, DETAIL and WORKMANSHIP are Beautiful and it was professionally cleaned by an Expert in Loches, France after I purchased it. Ready to be Hung & Enjoyed.

1825 London Large SILVER WINE FUNNEL STAND, very RARE

   About 200 years old is this Solid English Sterling SILVER WINE FUNNEL STAND made by Benjamin Smith a much sought after London Silversmtih who worked with Paul Storr, Phillip Rundell, Rundell Bridge & was a Royal Silversmith making many Silver pieces for George IV now in the Brighton Pavilion. This Stand is Uniquely Decorated with a French Gadrooned Border and bears a wonderful Heraldic Crest of a Leopard holding a Rat in its mouth. It is clearly & fully Hallmarked with 5 English Silver Hallmarks & Dated 1825. Dimensions: 5 9/16 inches in Diameter. The Silver Detail is lovely and finely Handmade, heavy Gauge of Silver weighing approx. 142 grams, or 5 oz..   An exceptional, RARE Presentation BOXED Set of 4 small Silver Wine Tasters, undoubedly a Special Private Order. Each Wine Taster has 2 French Silver Hallmarks including the Paris Silversmith, Deschamps Frères, 16, rue des Quatre-Fils, Paris, 3rd Arrondisement. Reference is the Dictionnaire des Poinçons d'Orfèvrerie which shows this Silversmith as having the 'Tête de Coq' as his Hallmark, which is on each of the 4 Wine Tasters. Unique is the double Finger Ring. Each Handmade Wine Taster is held by means of a wonderfully strong double Finger Ring and Thumb Rest. 2 Hallmarks clearly struck are on each Taster, see Photos.Struck. Exceptional, RARE French Chateau ARMOIRE Circa XVIIIth Century

  Large, imposing & magnificent ARMOIRE from a French Chateau in the Loire Valley, France. It is so large that it is difficult to photograph properly. The Cornish on top and the one on the bottom above the Feet are Rare to find on later Armoires. Antique CARRIAGE CLOCK, Repeater with Enamel side Panels - Exceptional & RARE

   This large, Important & very Rare REPEATER was made in France Circa 1870, during the Napoléon III Period. Bronze with Bevelled Crystal and very heavy, has 2 Signed & Hand painted Enamel side Panels decorated with Harem Girls and each Enamel panel is signed by the Artist 'Simonnet'. Both Enamel Paintings are in perfect condition which is Rare and the Paintings are each of exceptional Quality. Click for larger photos showing a better description. Dimensions: 6.25" high x 4.5" wide. I have just had the Movement completely gone over by a French 'Horloger' Watchmaker. XIXth Century Oil Painting, Henri PAILLER (1876-1954) - French

  ORIGINAL Oil 'NATURE MORTE' painted on Canvas and beautifully framed in a period Wood Fram. Pailler Exhibited often at Salons in France showing his Native Burgundy Landscapes worthy of the Flemish plains under the brush of the 17th century painters; one thinks of Guillaumin in front of his broad drawing, a little vague, and his tone with dominant mauves. However, he was not prolific so his Paintings are hard to find. Signed 'Pailler' b/r. Dimensions: 24" x 21.5" and the Painting: 12 1/2" x 16". CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are outstanding.

CUBAN CIGAR HUMIDOR or 'Cave à Cigar' Circa 1975

  This Cuban Cigar Box or Cigar Humidor was constructed out of Philipine or African Mahogany Wood which is quite durable. The workmanship of the Ebeniste who handmade this Humidor is unsurpassed in Quality both inside and out. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are exceptional. The removable Shelf permits the storage of Cigars in various Sizes & Gauges and is designed to permit Humidty to pass from the Top to the Bottom. 15.75" Wide x 8 1/2" Tall. Locks & comes with 2 lovely Keys. The Humidor has Handles on each side which are inset into the Sides of the Box so they are flat when closed. 19th Century French Bronze DISH, by Max Le Verrier, 1891-1973

  A lovely Signed example by a well known and sought after Paris Sculptor, Max Le Verrier who was born in Paris France in 1891. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are exceptional. Dimensions: 11,0 cm in Diameter, this Dish which can be used anywhere, was Handmade in heavy gauge French Bronze. The Artist used the AQUARIUS Sign in the Zodiac for the Theme of this Dish. Aquarius is January 21 through February 20th. The Detail is extraordinary, with the Dish resting on 3 discreet legs. The 'Face' is outstanding. Hallmarked on the bottom, Signed by the Sculptor, M. 19th Century Wine GOBLET, 'Timbale' Massive Silver C.1864, RARE

  An Extraordinary, Large Wine GOBLET, Beaker, Timbale or Cup made by the sought after Paris Silversmith, Roussel-Doutre, Eugène. Used both for Wine & Alcohols. Hand made in the finest French .950 quality in heavy gauge massive Silver. The 'Tulip' Shape is both unusual and Rare and the outstanding Quality of the work of the Silversmith is quickly evident. Rare early French Silver Hallmarks for the Silversmiths which dates this to C. 1864. Unlike the principal purpose of the Wine Taster, the Timbale is the forerunner of the Wine Goblet or Glass.  When you hold a Timbale, it is fantastic in the hand and because it is Silver, it keeps the ambient temperature of the wine and is very, very practical as well as being more Decorative than Reidel wine glasses.  Consider the cost of 1 crystal Reidel Bordeaux glass. This Timbale is Heavy weighing about 85g. (3oz) + DIMENSIONS: 8,50cm High.. Hallmarked with French Silver Control Hallmark, Minerve #1 on the outside just below the Rim and that of the Silversmith. IMPORTANT French Sterling Silver Wine Taster, by TÉTARD inset with Sterling Medal by ANDRIEU (1763-1822) Dated 1817

  A lovely, unusual Wine Taster Handmade in the finest .950 French solid Silver, a Rare example by a very well known and much sought after Paris France Silversmith, Tétard, whose Workshop was located at 4, rue Béranger in the 3rd Paris Arrondisement quite near the equally famous Silversmith, Ravinet d'Enfert. One finds hundreds of wine tasters and only one like this one. The Bowl has an inset French solid Silver Medallion in Hallmarked .950 Sterling signed by a leading French SCULPTOR & GRAVEUR, 'Jean-Bertrand ANDRIEU (1763-1822)' who was a member of the Académie Royale from 1788 to 1791.   He is also in the Musée de la Monnaie à Paris and prominently described in the Bénézit Dictionnaire Peintres et Sculpteurs. Engraved is a Portrait of Henry IV. Hallmarks Include the French Minerve Head N°1 (950/1000) indicating finest Silver (finer than Sterling 925/1000), the Silversmith TÉTARD and by the Sculptor, ANDRIEU. PONCET, Antoine (French) 20th Century STONE SCULPTURE,
Original, Unique, one of a kind, created in 1976


  Born in Paris, France in 1928, he worked in the district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and often worked in Italy near Carrara so he could be close to its Quarries. Sculptors worldwide including the most famous sculptures of Michel-Angel used the Marble from Carrara. Poncet worked with and was taught by Ossip Zadkine. This Sculpture TURNS on its Base giving it 360 degree Perspectives and shows the natural beauty of the Onyx Stone which Poncet chose particularly for those qualities. DIMENSIONS: 29" High with Base and 25" High for the Stone. Base has a Diameter of 12" and Hight of 4". Incredibly beautiful & unique work of Art. Poncet sculpted this Stone which is Green Onyx and less hard and more difficult to work with than Marble but the Veins in Onyx or more beautiful than in marble even when polished. One mistake with the hammer or chisel would have ended the life of this Sculpture. I purchased this Sculpture from Antoine Poncet when I met him in Paris with his wife in June of 1976. I have his Photo Certificate of Authenticity. Poncet, Signed this SCULPTURE on the Marble Base. This Sculpture has never been offered for sale and has been in my Collection since it was acquired. Poncet's sculptures are on exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Minneapolis, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Modern art in Milan, the Museum of Open Arts in Hakone in Japan, Brooklyn Museum & many more.   A Magnificent & Rare example by a well known and sought after Paris Silversmith, Louis COIGNET who became Maître Orfèvre in 1893. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are exceptional. Dimensions: 3" Diameter x 1 1/8" Deep x 4 1/4" Long from thumb rest to end of Bowl. Very heavy gauge French .950 quality Silver, approx. 83 grams. One Examines hundreds of Wine Tasters just to find one like this. The Design and Form are Classic with discreet adjustments. The Bubbles are larger, the Waves are deeper, the Finger Ring is massive and the Size is Large.   A remarkably beautiful, handmade, finest .950 French solid Silver Wine Taster, a Rare example by a very well known and much sought after Paris France Silversmith, Ravinet d'Enfert, whose Workshop was located at 83, rue du Temple in the 3rd Paris Arrondisement. Very heavy gauge French .950 quality Silver, approx. 75 grams. One finds hundreds of wine tasters and only one like this one. The Bowl has an inset French Silver Medallion in Hallmarked .950 Sterling signed by a leading French Artist, 'Marcel Renard'. Along with Dropsy, RENARD is regarded as one of the finest Medallists in Europe. His Bronze Medals sell for Hundred's of Dollars. Hallmarks Include the French Minerve Head N°1 (950/1000) indicating finest Silver (finer than Sterling 925/1000), the Silversmith, Ravinet d'Enfert and by Marcel RENARD.

CLARET JUG, Wine Decanter ART NOUVEAU, Circa 1880

  Breathtakingly beautiful Anitque Art Nouveau Wine Decanter or Claret Jug with original vibrant Art Nouveau colors. This Claret Jug was made in Vienna, Austria and fits perfectly into one of Mucha's paintings. Dimensions are 12 inches High. The Stopper, the Handle and the Body are each individually hand decorated and in near pristine condition. The CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY overall are exceptional with no mineral deposits and the Stopper is original and is also beautifully decorated in Green and White Enamel on the Top and is not chipped at all. Please look carefully at the artistic workmanship both in the Paingings and the Enamel work. The floating Cherubs look so very real as they float above a golden 24ct gold cloud with Tulips, Leaves and Lilies of the Valley. Note the Art Nouveau design around the bottom of the Decanter. Truly an unique, remarkable Work of Art as well as an anachronism.
