XIXth Century Oil Painting, Henri PAILLER (1876-1954) - French

  ORIGINAL Oil 'NATURE MORTE' painted on Canvas and beautifully framed in a period Wood Fram. Pailler Exhibited often at Salons in France showing his Native Burgundy Landscapes worthy of the Flemish plains under the brush of the 17th century painters; one thinks of Guillaumin in front of his broad drawing, a little vague, and his tone with dominant mauves. However, he was not prolific so his Paintings are hard to find. Signed 'Pailler' b/r. Dimensions: 24" x 21.5" and the Painting: 12 1/2" x 16". CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are outstanding.

  IMPORTANT ORIGINAL large, Oil on Canvas by André LANSKOY (ANDREI MIKHAILOVICH or Andrei Michailowitsch) circa 1959-1960 in a contemporary painted French wood frame. Lankoy's best period. Born in Moscow & son of Count LANSKOY, André first studied in St. Petersburgh, Kiev, then in Paris at the age of 19. In Paris in 1921 he painted with Henri Matisse & Chaim Soutine. Along with Serge POLIAKOFF, Hans Heinrich Ernst HARTUNG, Maria Elena VIEIRA DA SILVA etc. he was in The Second School of Paris, 1940-1965. CONDITION & QUALITY are excellent.
