Silver Plated Sculpture of KING RICHARD I (1157-1199)

  Interesting Figurine, Sculpture of the famous English King Richard I, the Lionheart who ruled England from 1189 until his death in 1199. this heavy, beautifully detailed Silvered Bronze Sculpture was used as a Decoration piece in a Display Cabinet the whole of its life. Also, used as a Desk Paperweight because it is very heavy weight about 195 grams. CONDITION WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are excellent with the Detail very fine but difficult to photograph. The photos are not the best and the Sculpture is much more handsome in person. The Silver has some Tarnish which is quite normal and can be easily cleaned with a Silver Glove. I have not cleaned nor polished it for some time. See Photos for more Details.

19th Century French Bronze DISH, by Max Le Verrier, 1891-1973

  A lovely Signed example by a well known and sought after Paris Sculptor, Max Le Verrier who was born in Paris France in 1891. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are exceptional. Dimensions: 11,0 cm in Diameter, this Dish which can be used anywhere, was Handmade in heavy gauge French Bronze. The Artist used the AQUARIUS Sign in the Zodiac for the Theme of this Dish. Aquarius is January 21 through February 20th. The Detail is extraordinary, with the Dish resting on 3 discreet legs. The 'Face' is outstanding. Hallmarked on the bottom, Signed by the Sculptor, M. Exquisite Antique BRONZE COVERED POT, XIXth Century

  Solid French Napoléon III BRONZE POT with its tight fitting LID. Use it anywhere, on any Table, in an office, as a Ppaper Weight or on a Dining Room Table for Decoration with Candy or Chocoates inside and as a Conversation piece. PONCET, Antoine (French/Swiss) 20th Century STONE SCULPTURE,
Original, Unique created in 1976 - Antoine PONCET (1928)


  Born in Paris, France in 1928, he worked in the district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and often worked in Italy near Carrara so he could be close to its Quarries. Sculptors worldwide including the most famous sculptures of Michel-Angel used the Marble from Carrara. Poncet worked with and was taught by Ossip Zadkine. This Sculpture TURNS on its Base giving it 360 degree Perspectives and shows the the natural beauty of the Onyx Stone which Poncet chose particularly for those qualities. DIMENSIONS: 29" High with Base and 25" High for the Stone. Base has a Diameter of 12" and Hight of 4". Incredibly beautiful & unique work of Art. Poncet sculpted this Stone which is Green Onyx and less hard and more difficult to work with than Marble but the Veins in Onyx or more beautiful than in marble even when polished. One mistake with the hammer or chisel would have ended the life of this Sculpture. I purchased this Sculpture from Antoine Poncet when I met him in Paris with his wife in June of 1976. I have his Photo Certificate of Authenticity. Poncet, Signed this SCULPTURE on the Marble Base. This Sculpture has never been offered for sale and has been in my Collection since it was acquired. Poncet's sculptures are on exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Minneapolis, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Modern art in Milan, the Museum of Open Arts in Hakone in Japan, Brooklyn Museum & many more. Antique STERLING Silver PLAQUE or MEDAL signed
Oscar Louis ROTY (1846-1911) - Oscar Louis ROTY (1846-1911)

  RARE French Plaque or Medal in solid Silver created for the 50th Anniversary of the famous Paris Silversmith, Charles Christofle by the equally famous French Engraver, Oscar Roty in 1893 with all of the influence of the Art Nouveau Period. The Christofle Silver Hallmarks are "O Chess Knight C + Gallia + Prod.Christofle. DIMENSIONS are 4,1cm x 3,00cm. Front shows Charles Christofle & Reverse has a dedication to him together with the famous Silver Hallmark for Charles Christofle. Roty made another in Bronze. This was offered only to important Dignitaries. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY excellent with 2 tiny pin marks where the Medal had been mounted. See another 150th Anniversary piece below.

ART DECO French Bronze DINNER GONG by LeVerrier, (1891-1973_
Max LE VERRIER (1891-1973)

  Outstandingly beautiful, Large, RARE and highly Decorative Antique Bronze Handmade SCULPTURE in the form of a Dinner Gong with its original Baton Signed by Max Le Verrier. The Center Bronze has been Decorated with a Viking Ship with Sails, mounted on a Bronze Base. The Baton is French Bakelite. Le Verrier had his own Foundry in Paris where this Sculpture was created & made. CONDITION WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are excellent. Dimensions are shown in the larger Photo if you Click on the small Photo to the left. What a wonderful Table Decoration and Conversation Piece. Le Verrier is an important French Art Deco Designer who worked more in Spelter than Bronze which makes this Sculpture that much more important. It is unique, large and quite heavy. I have never seen another.

BEGBIE, David (Scottish, English) 20th Century SCULPTURE,
Original, one of a kind - David BEGBIE (1955)

  Born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1955, David studied at Winchester & Cheltenham School of Art. He took a fancy immediately to working in industrial galvanised steel mesh. This sculpture, untitled, was executed in 1984 when David was 28 years of age and continues to be widely exhibited since his one-man exhibition held at the Brompton Gallery, Knightsbridge, London & the Salama-Caro Gallery, London. David produced the "Crucifix" sculpture for Winchester Cathedral in 1988. Signed & Dated on the base "David Begbie '84" this Sculpture is painted steel wire mesh on a Wooden handmade base. DIMENSIONS: 30" x 14" x 9" (76,3cm x 23cm) including the base. Incredible & unique work of Art. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are excellent. Csáky, Joseph [József] 1888-1971 - Original Bronze Sculpture, CZAKY or CSAKY - Joseph CSAKY (1888-1971)

  French Sculptor of Hungarian birth, Csáky studied at the school of Decorative Arts in Budapest from 1904 to 1905. In 1908 he went to Paris and settled in the block of studios La Ruche, where he was a neighbour of Fernand Léger, Alexander Archipenko, Henri Laurens, Marc Chagall and Chaim Soutine. He joined the Cubist movement in 1911, and he was included by Marcel Duchamp in the Salon de la Section d’Or in 1912. Bronze #5/8 "Jeune Fille au Tablier" signed "CSAKY" and Susse Fondeur Paris, one of the foremost foundry in Europe. Dimensions: 18.5" high 7 Base 8" square. 1939.   XIXth Century Sculpture by the famous Belgium, Brussels Artist, Georges van der STRAETEN. Signed on the back of the Sculpture, "G. Van der Straeten + Foundry Mark, signed 'Société des Bronzes de Paris' stamp." There is also the letter "S" for 'STRAETEN' at the bottom right of the Foundry Stamp. Subject is a beautiful Lady, dressed modelled wearing a cloak and bonnet. Dimensions: 7.5" tall on a later marble/onyx plinth 3/4" thick.   Outstanding, Rare Antique Silvered Bronze LAMP depicting a Beautiful Art Deco Woman kneeling on a Base, in lovely 2 tones of Marble, original to the Lamp. She is holding a decorated Helmut as if it is an Offering, which hides the Lamp. Quite practical as it can be used as a Table Lamp anywhere or, in the center of a Dining Room Table both as Decorative and a soft Light as well as a conversation piece at the Table.   Lovely, Rare Antique heavy Vienna Bronze CANDLESTICK incorporating the Sculpture of a Cat at the Base of the Candlestick. Wonderfully practical used as a Candlestick, or, as well as a conversation piece at the Table. 'J.M. LAMBEAUX' Erotic XIXth Century Bronze ORIGINAL Sculpture (1852-1908)

  Beautifully sculpted and well detailed ORIGINAL Bronze signed Belgian Sculptor, J. M. LAMBEAUX. Joseph-Maria-Thomas LAMBEAUX who was born in 1852 and died in 1908 and was well known for his nudes. Antique CHINESE Blanc de Chine Porcelain SCULPTURE of 'KUAN YIN'

  Absolutely wonderful Sculpture of the Chinese Goddess, 'Kuan Yin' in Blanc de Chine porcelain. Kuan Yin is beautifully depicted in her flowing Robe with Sash, decorated all over. She is carrying a large Pot of Flowers and wearing the loveliest bouquet in her hair. Dimensions 14" Tall x 4" Wide at the Base x 3" Deep.   Entitled "Porteuse d'eau" and created in 1925 by Pablo Gargallo, it is one of his finest bronze sculptures. It is signed and numbered 3/7. His Sculptures are very difficult to find.   Magnificent, large, heavy Bronze Sculpture signed 'Jacquot' and dated 1854. The Allegorical subject is most interesting. The artist creates 3 young Cherubs representing the ARTS, PAINTING, ARCHITECTURE & MUSIC with all three Cherubs in the same torso. This idea and the extremely fine and delicate execution of this Bronze highlights the great ability & importance of this Artist. Patina is excellent. Dimensions: 22,5cm (8.9") and weighs about 2lbs. MEDAL SCULPTURE French Bronze Signed Dropsy & Canale

  Beautiful Bronze 'Medal of Honor' for a cure against Tuberculosis signed on both sides of the children by G. Canale and H. Dropsy and signed on the Base by V. Canale. Henri (or Henry, as he signs his name) Dropsy (born in Paris, 1885-1969) was the son of the medallist Emile Dropsy. He was first pupil to his father, later he went on to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts under Thomas, Vernon and Patey. Dropsy exhibited at the Salon from 1907, he received a silver medal in 1914, a gold medal in 1921 and a travel grant in 1922. He was created Chevalier of the Legion of Honor and was selected for the Directors' position of the Paris Mint. Dropsy became professor for medal engraving at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and Membre de l'Institut (1942). Dimensions are: 3 " x 2.5" CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are excellent. $265

  Fabulous, large, Antique Bronze known world over as the"DANCING FAUN OF POMPEII" or "Faun Dansant' - original of which is found in the the Museo Nazionale, in Naples, Italy.   Carving in stone of a Primitive female Eskimo with her baby. The stone has a nice all over feel and a wonderful patina. Signed on the bottom with the initials of the artist "APM - 604." DRESDEN 'Pugs' Hand Painted

  Pair of DRESDEN Pugs or Dogs, Signed "Dresden" on the bottom of each. This fabulous pair of Vintage Dresden Pugs collared with six (6) gold bells, or, Stafordshire English Bulls, or Boston Terriers. I believe them to be Antique. They appear to have the earmarks of the Boston Terrier. I see these fellows going back to where the Boston Terrier did not have it's tail docked, such as todays Boston Terrier.
