Antique Silver PLAQUETTE or MEDAL signed 'Osar ROTY' 1893 - RARE - Orfèvrerie Métal Argenté One of the most sought after and Rarest CHRISTOFLE Silver pieces is this 3 Panel French Plaquette or Medal in Honor of Christofle's 50th anniversary in Silver Plating. Created for the 50th Anniversary of the famous Paris Silversmith, Charles Christofle by the equally famous French Engraver, Oscar ROTY in 1893 with all of the influence of the Art Nouveau Period. The Christofle Silver Hallmarks are "O Chess Knight C + Gallia + Prod.Christofle. DIMENSIONS are 59,5mm x 95,2mm. Front3 panels with Charles Christofle (1803-63) seated in center with Science raising a trophy cup; Industry and Art symbolized by young female nudes in side panels. REVERSE 3 panels: Evolution of Christofle, 1842 to 1892; silversmith electroplating teapot left; goldsmith chasing vase in right panel. Struck by the Paris Mint. RARE Model -Orfèvrerie Métal Argenté This large, beautiful and important Work of Art by CHRISTOFLE was made about 40 years ago to pay tribute to the original Clock in the Christofle Museum in Paris, at Saint Denis and dating from the 18th Century, the period of Louis XV (1723-1774). The movement is made and signed by the world famous SWISS Watch & Clock Maker. Jaeger le Coultre. Engraved on the back is all of this information + Christofle Hallmarks. CHRISTOFLE Silver FLOWER HOLDER' Centerpiece Circa 1930-1940 - Orfèvrerie Métal Argenté Original CHRISTOFLE finely detailed Silver & Reims Flower Holder or 'Pique Fleurs' which is both useful and decorative & clearly Hallmarked Christofle Fance + Coll'n GALLIA. Flowers are cut and fitted into the holes in the Crystal interior which is filled with water and this makes for a stunning table arrangement, small enough so as not to impede Table conversation. This is an early, heavy Model of Christofle and not seen very often. Early Christofle piece circa 1930-40 made in France at a time when Quality was paramount. The interior was certainly made by Baccarat or St. Louis in Reims, for Christofle. Click to see the large Photo. Superb Antique CHRISTOFLE Art Deco 5pc Silver Coffee Tea Service, GALLIA - Orfèvrerie Métal Argenté RARE Art Deco Circa 1930, Louis XIV style, Christofle, 'Gallia' Silver 5piece Coffee & Tea Service INCLUDING Coffee, Tea, Cream, Sugar & Tray. Dimensions: Coffee Pot 23,5cm Teapot 20,0cm Covered Sugar 16cm Creamer 10,5cm Tray 59cm. Hallmarks include Founder, Charles Christofle + Gallia Hallmarks. I have never seen another early Service by Chas Christofle. 4 pieces are Decorated with Palisandre (African Tulip Wood) or Ebony wood Handles & Gold washed. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY are excellent considering Age & Use. This Set is an Anachronism. The Silver is brilliant and the Set looks unused. 12 Original CHRISTOFLE Gallia KNIFE RESTS, Circa 1930 Not a Mixed Set -Orfèvrerie Métal Argenté Quite difficult to find a Complete Set of 12 different Original animal knife rests from Christofle, France & signed GALLIA. Each animal is individually cast, Silver-Plated and each was individually fashioned as a Cubist Animal by the renowned Swiss Sculptor/Designer Edouard-Marcel Sandoz
(1881-1971). Created in the late 1920's for "Christofle's Gallia" line for use in the First Class dining room of the S.S. Normandie Ocean Liner. Having the Gallia Mark, which Christofle reserved for the more Avant Garde design range of Christofle, this set is even more desirable. Set of 3 Antique CHRISTOFLE SALT CELLARS Circa 1870 Napoléon III - Orfèvrerie Métal Argenté Fabulous antique set of 3 heavy and beautifully decorated Christofle Silver Salt Cellars made by the founder of Christofle, Charles Christofle. Not easy to find one of these let alone 3. Normally, 3 Salt Cellars can easily serve 6-9 people at a Dinner. Interiors are heavy Blue Baccarat Crystal again nearly impossible to find today. I recently had to replace one for a Salt and had it blown in Paris for a cost of nearly $190. Each Salt Cellar is well hallmarked and numbered. The Christofle Silver Hallmarks are "O Chess Knight C + Gallia + Prod.Christofle. DIMENSIONS are 4,1cm x 3,00cm. Front shows Charles Christofle & Reverse has a dedication to him together with the famous Silver Hallmark for Charles Christofle. Roty made another in Bronze. This was offered only to important Dignitaries. CONDITION, WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY excellent with 2 tiny pin marks where the Medal had been mounted. See another Medal, Sold on eBay for $1500. Extraordinarily beautiful Serving Piece in the finest quality of CHRISTOFLE and made by its Founder and signed by him. DIMENSIONS- Ensemble is 14.25" (36cm) tall and 8" (20.3cm) wide - the TEA POT is 9.75" (25cm) from handle to spout, and 7"(18cm) Tall. Everything works, the hinges are in excellent condition and both the Teapot & the Stand are numbered and Hallmarked similarly. This is an entirely Original and Practical as well as decorative Collectible. These are among the earliest Hallmarks of Christofle. Quadruple silver plated, a process discovered by Christofle. Top, is adjustable for dispensing the quanity of sugar desired and then it is automatic. Clearly Hallmarked on the base by Christofle in Paris with 3 Silver Hallmarks, " O Scales C + CHRISTOFLE FRANCE + O Chess knight C". 8" Tall. Christofle Silver CHAMBERSTICK, Circa 1880 by Charles Christofle, founder - Orfèvrerie Métal Argenté RARE model of Chamberstick or Candle Holder, Candlestick or 'Bougeoir à main' in fine Silver plate Signed & Numbered on the bottom by "CHRISTOFLE" + "C * C" + "C Scales C" + 04"(see Photos). Everything is original. This is one of the first models made by Christofle. The chamberstick is heavy and the workmanship is very fine as can be seen from the handmade wing nut which holds the piece together. (see Photos) Measurements are: about 6.5" long. Condition & Quality are excellent including the silver, with very minor surface scratches and wear and no nicks or dings. |
